I use to receive their catalog in the mail for many years and now I receive emails…progress. How exciting to be able to visit the store.
Come an join me as we step back in time into an old fashioned mercantile.
We have found a lot of Maple syrup for sale in Vermont ……and it’s very tasty.
So many different kinds….Grade A fancy, grade A, Grade B Amber Grade B Dark. I like the dark robust one ….hmmmm, really I like them all. There is even Maple sugar, Maple Butter!! Oh Yes ~ you can taste it!! They also make melt in your mouth maple fudge…follow me and I’ll show you.
Oh well, I still like honey!
I have not eaten fudge in a long time, I do not like a lot of it ~ it’s too grainy and sweet!
There it is…. for the tasting. It’s so creamy and loaded with flavor. I like the Maple Walnut and the Chocolate walnut ~ they were all good!!
I love the way the candy is displayed ~ the old-fashioned way.
They have all kinds of vintage and antiques displayed around the store….
Sit a while and play a game of checkers, while you eat your candy.
Oh, yes they’re back and in the metal canister! …you get to sample the chips too…just to make sure they’re the same.
Dishes, Laundry, cosmetics and so much more..so lets take a quick look!
From the Queen??
The Orton family and The Vermont Country Store
There was so much more… hard to find cosmetics and other items. That is what Vermont Country Stores specializes in ~ If there is something you used to use and can no longer find, just ask them and they will try to locate it! They say they like the challenge. A very nice place to visit – every one was so very friendly!
If tired out you can pull up a rocking chair out on the front porch and watch the cars go by!
Stop by their on-line store: http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/store/
Stop back soon because we are headed to New Hampshire!
