Song Of May

Oh, look, there’s one little early wild rose out! Isn’t it lovely? Don’t you think it must be glad to be a rose? Wouldn’t it be nice if roses could talk? I’m sure they could tell us such lovely things. And isn’t pink the most bewitching color in the world? I love it…
~Anne of Green Gables, LMM
I wish you a beautiful, cottage rose kind of day!!

“Song on May Morning”
Now the bright morning-star, day’s harbinger,
Comes dancing from the east, and leads with her
The flowery May, who from her green lap throws
The yellow cowslip and the pale primrose.
Hail, bounteous May, that dost inspire
Mirth, and youth, and warm desire;
Woods and groves are of thy dressing,
Hill and dale doth boast thy blessing.
Thus we salute thee with our early song,
And welcome thee, and wish thee long.
– John Milton

One taste…I mean trimming of the nasturtium and she decided they look best when left to grow… Which makes me happy, because I find the leaves, buds and flower to be quite tasty. I love their light spiciness, they are a wonderful addition to pesto!

Do you make pesto?? What kind? I like and make many different kinds of pesto. In the winter if I do not have an abundance of fresh basil I use spinach! I find it to be quite tasty!

You can just see the light green sprouts of the lovely chamomile just starting to pop out of the soil, in the top section of the my herb pot.  How does your garden grow??  Do you grow many herbs ?
