Please enjoy this video, of Matthew’s carriage ride, around ‘The Lake of shining Waters”
Be violets in their secret mews
The flowers the wanton Zephyrs choose;
Proud be the rose, with rains and dews
Her head impearling;
Thou liv’st with less ambitious aim,
Yet hast not gone without thy fame;
Thou art indeed by many a claim
The Poet’s darling…..
How doth the little busy bee
Improve each shining hour,
And gather honey all the day
From every shining flower! ~Lewis Caroll,
To be overcome by the fragrance of flowers is a delectable defeat!
~ Beverly Nichols
Tis my faith that every flower
Enjoys the air it breathes!
~William Wordsworth, “Lines Written in Early Spring,”
Give me a garden of beautiful flowers…….
Give me ordorous at sunrise a garden of beautiful flowers where I can walk undisturbed
I wish you a day filled with lovely, fragrant blossoms !
Take Joy ~ Melissa

SPRING ON MT PISGAH
So what do you do when it’s HOT….HOT… Muggy ~ HOT in Florida?? Well, of course you head to higher, cooler elevation! And what better place than Mt Pisgah!
Mt Pisgah campground is at the highest elevation on the Blue ridge Parkway ~ at almost 5,000 feet in elevation.
It is so lovely with it’s beautiful flowers and scenery.
Formerly part of the Vanderbilt estate and near the US Forest Service’s ~ Cradle of Forestry Site.
It was a cool ~ somewhat rainy, relieve. Being a holiday weekend we were not the only ones seeking its beauty ~ but with all the natural shrubbery it was still quite peaceful. If you’re looking for a mountain retreat ~this is a lovely spot, not only is there a campground but also an Inn and restaurant.
Hope you are having a lovely spring!!
