Stay near me –don not take thy flight! Wordsworth
A little longer stay in sight!
Float near me; do not yet depart! ~ Wordsworth
“Just living is not enough,” said the butterfly, “one must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower.”
~ Hans Christian Anderson
- But these are flowers that fly and all but sing….
To A Butterfly (2)
I’VE watched you now a full half-hour,
Self-poised upon that yellow flower;
And, little Butterfly! indeed
I know not if you sleep or feed.
How motionless!—not frozen seas
More motionless! and then
What joy awaits you, when the breeze
Hath found you out among the trees,
And calls you forth again ! …….
~ William Wordsworth
A Time To Play with the Grand-kids! I love it when the kids and Gran – kids are in town and stop by for a visit. They really enjoyed playing with my little Tasha Tudor “A Time To Keep” – seasonal display.
- A Time to Play!
Apparently, I have been mistaken – this is not Bridget – it is Little Bo Peep!!
So here she is ….. Little Bo peep, with her sheep!!
Someone really enjoyed playing with the sheep, and asked several times if she could take them home.
It’s fun knowing you have special toys at Gran’s house. It makes the toys and the visits memorable.
- A Time to Play at Gran’s house, we wanted to take the balancing bird home too. Keep in mind we do not live in the same state as Gran, so we do not get to play with Gran or the special toys very often….but Gran being Gran…… has some little thing to put in a bag for us to take home, some little cars, coloring posters of Tinker Bell, crayons, makers, pencils and paper.
L – has a lot of fun with the balancing bird and the many other birds she discovered around Gran’s home.
No Pictures – I wonder where she gets that from?
A Time to Garden….or play in pot of dirt on the patio, AKA balcony.
…..who cares what you call it as long as there is a pot of dirt and a garden spade ….you are bound to have fun!!
Grand – kids are the greatest….. they truly know how to “TAKE JOY” in every moment!!
OH, there are birds out here too!!
…and a bird-cage with magnetic birds…what great fun!!
If you would like to see more of the toys I make (like the chocolate felt bunny in the top picture), that are inspired by my Grand – Kids, stop by my etsy shop – Natural toy land section:

Spring Greens Juice – to put a spring in your step!
Tasty and pretty too.
Basil, growing in container on my cottage patio garden.
Spring greens, growing in containers on my patio.
Sometimes I use the plastic (eek) containers, from organic greens purchased at the store. I poke a few small holes in the bottom of the container, add some potting soil, sprinkle seeds on top of soil add a little more soil on top of the seeds – water. Use the container lid under the bottom to catch the water.
Some pretty arugula sprouting up in my cottage patio garden. I love they way their leaves look.
I love the spicy taste of arugula and enjoy adding it my salads. I also add to my pesto.
Container Gardening – you can use all kinds of containers, make sure you have good drainage. I fertilize with liquid kelp, and mist often.
Some lovely mint, rosemary and basil growing on my cottage patio.
